What is it?

Edcamp Detroit is an unconference, inspired by similar events being organized around the country. Our goal is to bring educators together to share their passion and ideas for better learning in an open format. It’s a conference for educators, by educators, and anyone who shows up at the event can sign up to host a session, on any topic they choose. If you want to host, you just write your name on the board and lead a discussion for an hour. If people get something out of it, that’s great. If not, participants are encouraged to vote with their feet.

While there will be organizers for this event, we only provide the basic framework. People like you show up and decide what’s to be discussed. No longer will you be stuck with three options that don’t interest you. If you don’t see something helpful, create your own session and share what you feel most passionate about.
